Only Four Phone Booths Left in nYc, and they're all on West End Ave.I wish phone booths had just been repurposed for cellphone use.

DNA are one of my favorite bands from nYc's early downtown scene. Arto Lindsay's detuned Coral Scorpion playing is so amazing to me.Two clips from Downtown 81:
Live on Glenn O'Brien's TV Party:
Evelyn Glennie is mostly deaf and is one of the most amazing percussionists/musicians working today. Here's a TED talk she gave about listening in 2003:http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/evelyn_glennie_shows_how_to_listen.html
There's a great great movie of Ms. Glennie, called Touch The Sound, where she's playing with Fred Frith in an abandoned sugar factory. They both know how to listen to each other, to other people and their environments.
It's a skill we all should be so lucky to have.
Great new video from last week's Musikmesse where Killian Leonhardt is showing off L.L. Electronics's latest-- The Oddulator.
The Oddulator seems to be sort of a stripped down Rozzbox, with 2 oscillators, a couple of ring mods, a sequencer, and plenty of lo-fi tricks.I love that Robert Wyatt is the only musician they interview that likes punk music.
