"A kids' computer magazine I was working for in the early 80's were planning a music issue, and needed an original song to publish. I asked Joey, who generously gave us the rights to use Slug. It had been recorded but rejected from Road To Ruin, but Joey had a real affection for it. I still remember the look on his face when Johnny Ramone discussed the tracks they were going to use on the record and totally dismissed it. The programmers were thrilled at the chance to work with a Ramone and had a field day. We gave Joey a free computer in return, but he always preferred his Atari 2600 game system. We played games at his place fairly often back then; he even reviewed some for Heavy Metal magazine when I was working there.
