Artist Rachael Morrison is documenting the "unique scent" of each book in MOMA's book collection. All 300,000 of them.
I've been taking (physical, non-smell-based) inventory at Stout Books in Berkeley these last couple months and some of the books' smells have definitely stood out.
I'm enjoying imagining someone trying to find or order a book by smell.
Jack Ely, the Kingsmen’s vocalist on 1963’s “Louie Louie,” recreates the track 40 years later in a stable in the presence of a horse. I especially like how he replicates his (classic) mistake on the record, namely coming in too early on the last verse and then starting again.
That's the voice. Right there.
